This unit has been divided into three 20-minute videos. Each video will cover grammar, vocabulary and/or the different parts of the exam. At the end of each video, you will be given certain tasks to complete in the digital book. There are other tasks in which you will have to write your answers and send them to your teacher for correction. This unit should take about two weeks to complete, and you will have a 30-minute video call with your teacher each week to practise the speaking part and ask any questions you may have about the unit. This unit is called “Making choice” and is about important life choices. This unit introduces some important verbs in which students have some difficulties due to their translations. So, in the first lesson, we will look at the difference between certain verbs such as lose vs miss. We will then begin to look at the past tenses, starting with the past simple.
The second lesson will give you some more confusing verbs such as earn vs win, and maybe most importantly, make vs do. We will continue with the past tenses, and more specifically the past continuous, and then the past simple and past continuous together.
The third and final lesson will focus on the different parts of the B1 exam. We will look at reading part 6, listening part 1, speaking part 3, and writing part 2. You will learn how to write an article. It is important to go to the relevant pages of the digital book to practise each part of the exam and the writing needs to be sent to your teacher.
